Albert "Scott" Mcgee

August 11, 1941 — November 12, 2022

Mr. Albert “Scott” McGee, age 81, of Cedartown passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022.


Mr. McGee was born August 11, 1941, at Hall-Chaudran Hospital in Cedartown, to his late parents, Albert Robert Howard McGee, and Etha Mae Hedgepeth McGee.


Scott enlisted in the United States Army in 1960 serving in Germany and with 1/7 Calvary in Vietnam. He was discharged in 1969 with the rank of an E-5 SGT. He than returned to Cedartown and began his 34-year career with what is now known as GEO Specialty Chemicals.


Mr. McGee is survived by his wife, Peggy Carter McGee; children, Michael McGee (Rachel), Cassie Bohannon (Chris), Karen Heath (Brian), and Laura Corn (Larry); 10 grandchildren, Justin Dutton, Lindsay Dutton, Andrew Clark, Briana Heath, Austin Alred, Tyler Gosdin, Cash Bohannon, Cale Bohannon, Harper McGee, and Sawyer McGee; 2 great grandchildren, Jaci Dutton and Oaklan Gosdin. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Etha Mae McGee; first wife, Martha Dyer McGee; sister, Rebecca McGee; brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Joyce Packer McGee.


Graveside funeral services for Mr. Scott McGee will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the family lot of Pine Bower Baptist Church cemetery with Brother Edward Lackey officiating. The Rockmart American Legion Brown- Wright Post 12 will provide military honors.


Mr. McGee’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.


The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 15 from 12:00 until 1:30 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
