Carl Henry Williams

Mr. Carl “Henry” Williams, age 80, of Rockmart, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020.

Henry was born in Trion, Georgia on September 7, 1939 to Will & Dessie-Mae Bowers Williams. Henry was a long-time member of Friendly Baptist Church in Cedartown. He had dedicated 25 years of faithful service to Goodyear before retiring. He had a big heart, never meeting a stranger and always willing to help others. Henry could be found outside either hunting, fishing, gardening, tending to his dogs, chickens, or goats. He could even be found driving the lawnmower through the neighborhood checking on everyone.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lillian Williams, mother, father, and four infant sons.

Henry is survived by his daughter and son in law, Faith & Mark Harris; step grandchildren, Nicole Harris, Seth Harris & Landon Harris; brother, Willie Eugene Williams; sister, Syble Payne, and sister in law, Betty Akins. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey and Rev. Derek Mann officiating. Interment will follow in North View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Mike Williams, Ethan Mann, Jeremy Mallett, Robbie Akins, Brandon Wingo and Zach Williams.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are encouraged.
