Mr. Freeman C. Stringer, age 72, of Rockmart passed away at his residence Thursday, April 18, 2019.
Mr. Stringer was born September 21, 1946 in Rockmart son of the later Edger Stringer and Lee Emma Rowell Stringer. Freeman was a graduate of Rockmart High School Class of 1964. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. After returning home from the military he began his 30-year career as a welder then retiring from Profile Extrusion in Rome. He was a member and deacon at Bible Baptist Church in Rockmart. If Freeman was not cutting grass around the house, you would find him spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother.
Mr. Stringer is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Catherine White Stringer; son and daughter in law Jason and Tara Stringer; grandchildren, Caleb Stringer, Madelyn Stringer, Seth Stringer, Jared Stringer, Summer Stringer and Caroline Stringer; sister, Janice Stringer Meek and husband Ralph; brother in law Sammy White and his wife Janice. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Stringer will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Brother Trey Chambers and Brother Jason Stringer officiating his grandson Caleb Stringer will be delivering a eulogy. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include; Caleb Stringer, Seth Stringer, Jared Stringer, Jerry Stringer, David Jackson and James Bell.
The family will receive friends Friday April 19, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
