James "Harold" Hayes

Mr. James “Harold” Hayes, age 88, of Cedartown, GA passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020.

Mr. Hayes was born in Cedartown, GA on June 29, 1932, a son of the late Louie Hayes and Carmelia Hale Hayes. A native of Cedartown, Mr. Hayes had lived all of his life in Cedartown where he worked for the United Stated Post Office and retired after thirty years of service. He was also a former dispatcher with the Cedartown Fire Department, and also worked with AT&T. He had a love for sports and was the public address announcer for the Cedartown High School Football Team for many years. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air Force. Mr. Hayes loved to fish and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Virginia “Gin” Bradshaw Hayes.

Survivors include his daughter, Patti Anderson, Cedartown; granddaughter, Brittainy Walker and her husband Rob; great grandson, Dante’ Walker; brother-in-law, Larry Bradshaw and his wife Connie; sisters-in-law: Louise Bradshaw and Vickie Bradshaw; nieces; nephews; and cousins also survive.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Hayes will be cremated and Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Greenwood Cemetery.
