John "Ricky" Ayers, Iii

Mr. John Ricky Ayers, III aka “Little Ricky”, age 52, of Cedartown passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022.

He was born in Rome, Georgia on October 24, 1969, son of John Ricky Ayers “big Ricky” and Lois Haynes Ayers. He loved working with his hands, being a painter by trade, he also enjoyed carpentry work with his father. He was always willing to help anyone, even a stranger. He had a sweet soul that saw the goodness in everyone. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Youngs Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Ricky Ayers, II; his paternal grandparents, Tommy & Ruth Ayers and his maternal grandparents, Elmer & Louise Redmond.

Survivors include his parents, Ricky & Lois Ayers; son, Andrew Ayers; sister, Brandi Johnson and her husband, Corey; granddaughter, Shaveha Banks; nephew, Brayden Johnson; great nephew, Isaiah Johnson. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

To honor his wishes, services to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Brady West officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions to be made to either Youngs Grove Baptist Church Building Fund or to Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

God Looked around his garden and found an empty place. He than looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, “peace be thine”. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home. Until we meet again.
