Kerry Lee Eason

Sergeant Kerry Lee Eason, age 47, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

Mr. Eason was born on April 16, 1974 to his parents, Edward Lee Eason and Wanda Wells Eason. Kerry was a 1992 graduate of Cedartown High School. Mr. Eason has worked for The Polk County Sheriff’s Office since November 2007 and was promoted to Sergeant in April of 2017. In his free time, Kerry enjoyed being outdoors, the Cedartown community, UGA Bulldogs and spending time with his loving family and being “Big Big” to his grandson. Mr. Eason loved to help others and treated everyone he met like he wanted to be treated. He enjoyed reaching out and being a shoulder to lean on for the children in the community and being apart of the Drug Court Team and Polk County Crime Suppression Unit. Sergeant Eason was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly by all of his loving family and friends.

Mr. Eason was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lee Eason and his sister-in-law, Heather Stroup Rahman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Deresa Eason; children: Tyler Eason and his wife, Jayme, Dalton Eason and his wife, Aevorie; mother, Wanda Wells Eason; grandson, Jaxon Eason; nephew, Logan Duke; sister, Amanda Eason and several aunts, uncles, cousins and law enforcement family.

Funeral Services for Sergeant Kerry Lee Eason will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Tucker, Rev. Jonathan Blackmon and Rev. Jonathan Fortner officiating and a eulogy given by his wife, Deresa Eason. Interment will follow the service at Polk Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Tyler Eason, Dalton Eason, Logan Duke, Chad Patterson, Darrell Dempsey, T.J. Stroup, J.T. Turner, Tyler Golden, Jeremy Hindman, and Adam Willingham. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his law enforcement family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
