Lamar "Chandler" Evans

Mr. Lamar "Chandler" Evans, age 86, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

He was born on March 26, 1934 in Rome, GA to his late parents, Clabe Evans, Sr. and Rachel Bryan Evans. Chandler was retired from Temple-Inland where he had worked as an electrician for 23 years. He loved to work with his hands and tinkering around in his workshop. Mr. Evans was an active and supportive member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed helping others in need, as well as choosing to have faith in people! Mr. Evans was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers: Gene Evans Jr. and Clabe Evans Jr. and his daughter, Sharon Evans.

Mr. Evans is survived by his loving wife, Jean Evans, children: Martin Evans (Shelia Cain), David Evans, and Lisa (Sean) Evans Taylor, brothers: Lewis Evans and Bobby Evans, grandchildren: Mitchel Evans, Malory Evans, Walker Evans, Bethany Evans Ferreira, Charis Shipman, Evan Taylor and Jack Taylor, great-grandchildren: Jacob Evans and Westley Shipman. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Evans will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church at 2:30 PM with Dr. Phillip May officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oaknoll Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Sean Taylor, Mitchel Evans, Eric Shaw, Walker Evans, Neil Evans, Wayne Shaw, Casey Wells, and Wayne Evans.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 1:30 PM until the service begins at 2:30 PM.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made in his memory to Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church, 702 Pleasant Valley Rd SE, Silver Creek, GA 30173.
