Mrs. Linda Faye S. West, age 78, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023.

Linda was born November 11, 1944, in Cedartown, Georgia, daughter of the late Loyd Strickland and Katie Mae Strickland.

Linda was lovingly referred to as a “firecracker.” It has been said you never had to guess where you stood with her and that included her deep love for all she knew. She was a generous person who was always available to give wise counsel. She had a long career as a lunchroom manager for Polk School District. Linda was of the Baptist Faith. Above all, she loved her family more than life.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Terry West and her brother, Wayne Strickland.

Linda is survived by her daughter Melinda Smith and her husband, Mike; two sons: Ken Hatch and his wife, Karen, and Bryan Hatch and his wife, Kim; grandchildren: BJ Hatch and his wife, Whitley, Derrick Hatch and his wife, Katie, Kendall Dostart and her husband, AJ, Taylor Smith, Kanton Smith and his wife, Baylee, Brett Smith and his wife, Taylor, and Matt Wood and his wife, Dana; and her great grandchildren whom she dearly loved: Sutter Smith, Bryce Hatch, Jase Hatch, Joelee Dostart, Karsyn Dostart, Aubri Dostart, Gunner Hatch, Emmelynn Hatch, Elliana Hatch, and Eaton Smith. Additionally, she is survived by her brothers, Delmer Strickland and his wife, Suanna, and Larry Strickland, and sister, Carolyn Lee.

Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Faye S. West will be held Monday, January 23, 2022, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with pastor Michael Jack Goss and Pastor Richard Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: BJ Hatch, Derrick Hatch, Kanton Smith, Zackery Porter, Joey Lee, Matt Wood, and AJ Dostart.
