Mildred Lou Gilmore

Mildred Lou Gilmore, age 78, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022.

She was born January 1,1944, daughter of the late John Henry Thurman and Dovie Lou Thurman.

Mrs. Gilmore loved spending time with her family above all. She was a homemaker and enjoyed going to yard sales.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilmore was preceded in death by two infant children; son, Robert Adkinson; daughter, Brenda Adkinson; grandson, Charles Adkinson; sister, Joyce Thurman; brothers, Jack Thurman, Jerry Thurman, and David Thurman; and husband, Quincey Gilmore.

Mrs. Gilmore is survived by her husband, James Johnson; two sons: Timmy Myers and his wife, Beverly, and Jamie Adkinson and his wife, Amy; daughters: Becky Kight and her husband, James, and Tina Weldon and her husband, Jeff; sister, Jean Thurman; brothers: Willis Thurman, Jimmy Thurman, James Thurman, and Alfred Thurman; twenty grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, at 2:00 PM.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
