Steven Bryant Wilson

Mr. Steve “Bear” Bryant Wilson, age 68, of Taylorsville, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020.

Bear was born July 5, 1952 in Cedartown, Georgia to the late Bryant Wilson and the late Marion Lanham Wilson. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Bear was a member of the East View Baptist Church where he played softball in his younger years. He retired from the Polk County Road Department as a diesel mechanic. Bear’s greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children: daughter, Katie Hasty and her husband Greg, his son Clay Wilson and his wife Hannah; grandchildren: Garrett Hasty, Will Hasty and Garrison Wilson; sister Faye Bowling and her husband Glafus and sister Linda Bentley and her husband Walter; the mother of his children, Debbie Wilson; and his dog Ginger along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Reginald Campbell officiating. Social distancing guidelines will apply and masks are recommended.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Garrett and Will Hasty and Garrison Wilson.

In lieu of flowers , the family requests donations be made to East View Baptist Church, 1240 Syble West Brannon Parkway, Cedartown, Georgia, 30125.
