William Harold Tanner

Mr. William “Harold” Tanner, age 82, of Cedartown passed away on August 10, 2022.

Mr. Tanner was born in Cedartown to his late parents, Uzeal and Mary Magdalene Tanner. Harold spent his career as the plant manager for Rome Plow for fifty years and six months. Mr. Tanner was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.

Mr. Tanner is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Carolyn Green Tanner; daughters: Anita Floyd (Gordon), Charity Wallace (Spud), Becky Ledbetter (Craig); Grandchildren: Jessica Nieves (Anthony), Tanner Ledbetter, Will Ledbetter and great granddaughter, Mila Nieves. Also surviving are two sisters, Ann Shaw and Janice Goss.

Graveside services for Mr. Tanner will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 3:20 PM at Polk Memory Gardens with Mr. Bobby Green speaking. Full military honors will be conducted by the Rockmart American Legion Brown-Wright Post 12 Honor Guard.

The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers: Gordon Floyd, Craig Ledbetter, Will Ledbetter, Anthony Nieves, Steve Kines, and Raymond Kuglar.

Honorary pallbearers will include Fred Rhinehart, Jimmy Carter, Frank Lott, Spud Wallace, Phillip Pruitt, and the girls at Fresenius Dialysis Clinic in Cedartown.

The family will receive friends at Smith & Miller Funeral Home on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
