Ms. Alma Jean Sills Parker, age 81, passed away, Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
Jean was born May 7, 1942, in Lafayette, Georgia, the daughter of her late parents, Carl Dempsey Sills and Lucille Mildred Barnett Sills.
Jean was of the Christian faith and loved worshipping the Lord and attending her church. She attended Mountain Springs Church and Mountain Home Church. Jean loved to be with fellow Christians and singing Gospel songs. She really enjoyed traveling and was especially fond of going to the mountains and the outer banks. She had a sweet tooth and always enjoyed saltwater taffy. Jean leaves a legacy of love and kindness and will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffany Parker; sister, Ann Spain, and brothers, Barry Sills, and Robert Sills.
She is survived by her children: Debra Carter, Leon Parker and his wife, Teresa, David Parker and his wife, Sally, and Missy Dziurkiewicz and her husband, Bill; grandchildren: Jay Gober, Amanda Reeves, Jessica Campbell, Tiffany Parker, Derrick Campbell, Taylor Ammons, Samantha Parker, Jonathan Parker, Starla Parker, and Ashley Parker; greatgrandchildren: Kaitlyn Roberson, Crysta Shannon, Dylan Campbell, and Sara Gober; and great greatgrandchildren: Vincent Martinez and Charlotte Roberson. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A service to celebrate her life will be held, Friday, September 29, 2023, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Anthony Trawick officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 12:00 PM until the service hour, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
