Anna S. Parker

Jan 24, 1943 — Aug 28, 2026

Mrs. Anna S. Parker, age 83, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026.

Mrs. Parker was born January 24, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, daughter of the late Taft W. Sutton and Hilda Rebecca Sutton.

Mrs. Parker was a longtime and devoted member of Anna Kresge Methodist Church, where her faith and friendships were an important part of her life. She found joy in the simple things—cheering on the Braves, attending china painting classes, and lovingly crocheting beautiful treasures for those she loved. But her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, a cherished mother, and a doting grandmother who treasured every moment with her grandchildren. She loved reading and worked as a librarian in Polk County for a number of years. Known for her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit, she had a way of making everyone around her feel loved and cared for. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Grover Cleveland Parker, Jr.; and brother, Bill Sutton.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her children: Wade Parker (Sandy), and Jill Flowers (Jamie Surrett); grandchildren: Adam Flowers, Brooke Oxenreider (Blake), and Davis Parker (Madison Henderson); greatgrandchildren: Noa Oxenreider, and Nellie Oxenreider; sister, Becky Henderson (Joe); brother-in-law, Jody Parker (Cheri); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In keeping with her wishes, no formal services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Murphy Harpst Children’s Home Foster Care.

The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Anna S. Parker.
