Mr. Charles “Ronald” Head, age 74, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026.

Mr. Head was born September 3, 1951, in Cedartown, Georgia, son of the late Gene Head and Laura Johnson Head.

Mr. Head was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He went on to enjoy a fulfilling thirty-eight-year career in maintenance at Newark Paperboard, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dependability.

Mr. Head enjoyed spending his free time rabbit hunting and joyriding around town and had a special love for old sports cars. He was a caring person who truly never met a stranger. He loved talking with friends and strangers alike and was well known as a jokester who could always bring a smile or a laugh to those around him.

Mr. Head’s life was guided by his deep faith in the Lord. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Head is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Head; brother, James Head; and son-in-law, Steve Peek.

Mr. Head is survived by his wife, Gail Ballew Head; children: Rhonda Peek, Joshua Head, and Tiffany Gibson and her husband, Josh; stepchildren: Melinda Hassebrock (Brad), Cindy Holtzclaw (Johnathan), Raymond Ballew, Jr., and Kenneth Ballew; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Vicki Brown; brother, Jerry Head; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Faith Baptist Church, at 2:00 PM, with Reverend Danny Tucker and Reverend Randy Stephens officiating. A eulogy will be given by his granddaughter, Cadence Gibson.

The family will receive friends, also on Tuesday at Faith Baptist Church, from 12:00 PM until the service hour.

The family kindly accepts flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Mr. Head’s memory.
