Mr. Clyde Buford Williamsd, Jr., age 87, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Thursday morning, June 4, 2026.
Mr. Williams was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on October 29, 1938, the son of the late Clyde Buford Williams, Sr. and Eloise Morgan Williams. A lifelong resident of the Cedartown area, he was a member of Lake Creek Baptist Church. Throughout his working years, he was employed by Cedartown Coca-Cola and Blossman Gas Company before becoming a self-employed handyman, known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. Mr. Williams was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and found great enjoyment in camping, spending time outdoors, and cutting grass. He was also well known for always having a pinch of chewing tobacco nearby. Mr. Williams will be remembered for his friendly nature, hardworking spirit, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Madeline Burns Williams, and a baby brother, James William Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by two daughters, Christy (Barney) Brown, and Ann (Freddie) Giles; two sons, Phillip (Angela) Williams, and Todd Williams; sister, JoAnn Carson. Seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Trawick officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Williams’ family will receive friends at Smith & Miller Funeral Home Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
Pallbearers will include Phillip Williams, Todd Williams, Freddie Giles, Joey Giles, Christian Williams, and Jacob Brown.
