Daniel "Danny" Little

Daniel Paul “Danny” Little, age 55, of Silver Creek, passed away suddenly, leaving his family and friends heartbroken by his unexpected loss.

Danny is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Karen Little, his devoted partner in life. He also leaves behind his son, Corey Little, and Corey’s wife, Briana, who brought him immense pride. Among Danny’s greatest joys were his grandchildren, Cullen Little and Cambri Little, who lovingly knew him by his cherished title of “Pawpaw.” Being their Pawpaw was one of the brightest blessings of his life.

He is also survived by Sue Newberry, Joey Newberry (Phyllis), Jeff Newberry (Stacie), Quinton Stephens (Christy), and Ron Trahan (Misty); and numerous nieces and nephews. Danny was deeply connected to his family, and he treasured every moment spent with them. 

He was preceded in death by Apostle Paul Little, Betty Warren Little, Kenneth Dickie Newberry, Jacob “Jake” Newberry, Helen Kilgore, and Gordon Kilgore, who welcomed him into eternal rest.

Danny spent many years building a respected career in the auto parts industry, where he was known for his knowledge, dependability, and genuine willingness to help others for 30+years. Recently, he found renewed purpose and joy in his work at the Polk County Animal Shelter—a role he loved dearly. His compassion for animals shone through every day he spent there.

He loved all things classic cars, enjoyed guns and shooting, and cherished hunting with his son. These passions filled his life with friendship, adventure, and stories he loved to share.

Danny was a man of strong Christian faith and served faithfully as a deacon. His love for God, his church, and his community shaped the way he lived—with humility, kindness, and a servant’s heart.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Danny will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Mr. Ben Clements giving a eulogy and Reverend Steve Arrington officiating. Interment will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will include: Kyle Newberry, Logan Bates, Quinton Stephens, Matthew Stephens, Logan Nelson, Ron Trahan, Marc Trahan, and Ja’marrea Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will include Brad Bates, Jim Smith, and Gary Lecroy.

Known for his generous spirit, easy smile, and unwavering loyalty, Danny touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. His steady presence, his kindness, and the quiet strength he carried through life will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
