Derek Benjamin Davis passed on August 20, 2026, at the age of 44, born May 4, 1982, and was a resident of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Derek was a devoted father, son, brother and uncle. He loved his family dearly. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. Derek was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his children, Riley Davis, Abi Davis and Will Davis all of Supply, North Carolina and Martin Davis of Conway, South Carolina; his mother; Dorothy Bley of Ringgold, Georgia; father, Donald "Don" Davis and stepmother Angie Davis of Cedartown, Georgia; and three brothers, Donny Davis and wife Shannon of Germany, Alex Ford and wife Rebecca of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Mark Ford and wife Megan of Ringgold, Georgia; longtime companion, Ginger Taylor and children, Braden Taylor, Gracie Taylor and Clayton Taylor all of Ocean Isle Beach and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, in the Wallis ~ Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project (support.woundedwarriorproject.org), Stop Soldier Suicide (stopsoldiersuicide.org/donate), Mission 22 (mission22.org/make-a-donation), or the Garry Sinise Foundation (www.garysinisefoundation.org/donate).
