Ms. Elaine Rice, age 74, of Cedartown, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Elaine was born April 29th of 1950, in Cedartown, Georgia, daughter of the late Eugenia York Lorrens. 

Elaine has lived the entirety of her life here in Cedartown and made many friends over the years. She pursued higher education at Floyd College, having obtained an Associate's Degree, and worked in customer service at AT&T. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Cedartown. Elaine loved shopping and traveling, and was generally "on the go." She was full of life and enjoyed talking with anyone she would meet. More than anything, Elaine loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren whom she was very proud of. 

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Steve Rice; and three grandchildren, Jacob Rice, Cathleen Rice, and Brenton Rice. 

She is survived by her son Steven Rice and his wife, Jamie; brothers: Mike Lorrens, Gary Lorrens, and David Lorrens; and grandchildren: Andrew Rice, Chloe Livingston and her husband, Hunter, and Raylee Rice. 

Graveside services to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM, in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Brent Edwards officiating. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Hunter Livingston, Hunter Parris, Michael Walker, Chan McDonald, Joel Guthrie, and Andrew Rice. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Cody Short. 

Her family will receive friends, also on Tuesday, from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM, at the Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
