Mrs. Bettye Elizabeth Conaway LaPann, age 76, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025.
Mrs. LaPann was born January 22, 1949, in Fort Payne, Alabama, daughter of the late William Henry Conaway and Edna Dorothy Dunn Conaway.
Mrs. LaPann was a devoted Baptist who loved and served the Lord throughout her life. She was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church, where her strong faith was clear to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking for her family. Bettye served over 50 years as a distinguished Registered Nurse in Floyd County. She had a natural gift for teaching and was always willing to help and serve others. She especially loved spending time in the mountains. Most of all, Mrs. LaPann loved her family and cherished every moment with them.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. LaPann is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Earl LaPann, II; and eight siblings.
Mrs. LaPann is survived by her children: Sonja Ann LaPann, Eric Shane LaPann, Jennifer Dawn Davenport, Frank Earl LaPann III and his wife, Stacey, and Rhonda Faith Clonts and her husband, Allen; fifteen dearly loved grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and siblings: Loyd Conaway (Betty), Carrie Sue Baily, Vermie Jean Radley , and Rebecca Ann Scott; daughter in law, Linda LaPann. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at Victory Baptist Church. Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Reverend Barry Snapp and Reverend Joel A. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Morning View Cemetery, New Calhoun Hwy, Rome, Georgia following her funeral.
The family will be receiving friends Friday, July11, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home and also Saturday July 12, 2025, at Victory Baptist Church from noon until the funeral hour.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Josh LaPann, Josh Pouncey, Aaron Nelson, Daniel Hastings, Will Purcell, and Allen Clonts.
