Gerry Madison Brown

January 21, 1942 — October 20, 2020

Mr. Gerry Madison Brown, age 78 of Cedartown, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

Gerry was born January 21, 1942, in Cedartown to the late Artie L. Brown and the late Pauline Sloman Brown. He was a deacon in the Baptist church for over 40 years where he loved to sing as “Gerry, Phil and the Brownetts”. Gerry served our country faithfully in the United States Navy then retired from GEO Specialty Chemicals after working almost forty years. He enjoyed refinishing furniture, hunting, fishing and playing golf, but his greatest love was his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Sheila Brown; son, Todd Brown and his wife Edie and son Rodney Brown and his wife Gina; grandchildren: Benjamin Brown, David Brown, Melissa Zapata, T.J. Brown and his wife Kaley, and Jordan Brown; great-grandchildren: Sawyer Brown, Cayden Zapata and Cailyn Peterson; sisters: Brenda Gaylor and Paulette Wood along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded death by his parents, Artie and Pauline Brown; brother, Phil Brown, and sister, Connie Brown.

Services to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2:30 PM in the sanctuary of Victory Baptist Church, 15 Hendrix Rd Rockmart, Ga. with his grandchildren sharing memories and Rev. T.J. Brown officiating.

The family has requested that everyone please comply with best practices and wear your mask and maintain social distancing while in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Yorkville Baptist Church, P O Box 68, Rockmart, GA 30153.
