Mr. Jackie Jarrett, age 77, passed away surrounded by his loving family Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Mr. Jarrett was born December 14, 1948, in Cartersville, Georgia, son of the late William Jarrett and Bessie Jarrett.

Mr. Jarrett proudly served his country in the United States Army and dedicated over forty-two years of hard work to the concrete business. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He loved spending time at auctions searching for a good deal, and had a passion for old cars. He also enjoyed good food, time with friends, and sharing stories with those around him.

Above all, he loved his family dearly and treasured every moment spent with them. He was a man of strong faith who loved the Lord, his church, and loved to preach the Gospel. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, friendly personality, and the love he showed to his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jarrett is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary “Frances” Jarrett; a son, Larry Jarrett; sisters, Myrtle Inez Hill and Mary Bradford; and brothers, Reverend William F. Jarrett, and Charles Jarrett.

Mr. Jarrett is survived by his children: Bobby Jarrett and his wife, Lesia, Teresa Hames and her husband, Jerry, and Melinda Jarrett; daughter-in-law, Lynn Jarrett; and grandchildren, Sgt. Larry Jarrett and his wife, Sgt. Samantha Jarrett, Kristen Wilson, Jacob Jarrett, Brooke Gable and her husband, Justin, Taylor Campbell and her husband, Justin, and Brandon Hames and his wife, Destinee. Additionally, he is survived by twelve great-grandchildren: Lexi Jarrett, Kerra Wilson, Jackson Gable, Cooper Gable, Gannon Campbell, Laylan Campbell, Mackenzie Hames, Mallory Hames, Lain Gable, Jaylei Gable, and Lila Campbell; and siblings, Mattie Stephens, Linda Brennan, and Charles Jarrett.

Funeral services to honor his life will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Jeff Hulsey and Mr. Bobby Jarrett officiating.

Mr. Jarrett’s family will receive friends Friday evening, May 8, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Michael Head officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Brandon Hames, Jacob Jarrett, Justin Campbell, Justin Gable, JE Clark, and Adam Gable. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gannon Camp, Jackson Gable, and David Jarrett.

Military Rites will be performed by the Brown Wright Post 12 Honor Guard.
