Jimmy West

August 22, 1934 — June 20, 2019

Mr. Jimmy Jessie West, age 84, of Cedartown passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019.

He was born in the Fish Creek Community on August 22, 1934, a son of the late Pink and Willie Newby West. Jimmy worked countless years at Adams & Zuker Tire Company. He had a great love for farming, fishing and working on tractors. He was always on the go, the only time he would sit still is when he was sitting in the yard watching and feeding the birds and rabbits. Jimmy was a devoted family man always putting family first.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Tim West; granddaughter, Hannah Ingram and brother, Johnny West.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Burns West; daughters and sons in law, Shelia & Thomas Ingram and Lynn & Lester Peek, Jr.; grandchildren, Amy & Mark McCowan, Heather & Michael Blackmon, Trevor & Kasha Peek, Tyler Peek, Todd & Misty Peek, and Trey & Sherry Peek; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; brothers, Bobby West, Sr. and Jerry West; sisters, Nancy Dodgens, Fannie West and Helen Molock. Several Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. West will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Owen “Bud” Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with Mrs. Heather Blackmon delivering the eulogy.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Sonny Burns, Clyde Williams, Phillip Williams, Tyler Peek, Trevor Peek and Todd Peek.

The family has requested that if you insist on sending flowers, please send rustic arrangements or wildflower arrangements.
