Katrina Nancilee Kendig Jenkins

It is with heavy hearts, we Announce the passing of Mrs. Kathy Jenkins, beloved wife, teacher and friend.

Kathy was born in  Virginia, but moved to Rome, Georgia at an early age. She graduated from East Rome High School in 1968. She earned a B.S. Degree in Education from West Georgia College. She later completed her Masters of Education from West Georgia College. She began her teaching career with Polk School District at Benedict School, teaching 3rd grade. She also taught at Westside, Cedar Hill, and Cedartown Middle School. Her teaching career spanned over 36 years. The students whose lives she touched will remember her always as the teacher who loved and cared about them, always going the extra mile! 

Kathy will be remembered for her love of life and her love of teaching! She loved her family, her precious dog "Spankie, her students and her friends!

Kathy is preceded in death by her mother, Phemie Bagley and father, Dennis Kendig.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Danny; her precious dog, Spankie; stepson, Bart and his wife, Brenda;  grandchildren: Parker, Cooper, and Walker; sister in law, Debbie and her husband, Rusty; and brother in law, Phil also survive.
