Martha Annette Shaw

July 8, 1941 — May 18, 2026

Mrs. Martha Annette Shaw, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Monday, May 18, 2026.

Mrs. Shaw was born July 8, 1941, in Cedartown, Georgia, daughter of the late Russell Earl Milligan and Sarah Louise Edge Milligan.

Mrs. Shaw lived a life defined by faith, love, and quiet service to others. For sixty-five cherished years, she was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Charles. Mrs. Shaw was the heart of her home. A gracious homemaker, she welcomed everyone through her doors with warmth and love, often at a moment’s notice. No one ever left her table hungry, as she was known for her wonderful cooking and the treasured Sunday dinners at “Maw-Maw’s house.”

As a young woman, she accepted Christ at Collard Valley Baptist Church. Her faith could be seen not only in what she said, but in the selfless way she cared for others every day. For thirty-two years, Mrs. Shaw drove a school bus and loved the children as her own. She had a special gift for making people feel important and valued, especially children.

She also found great joy in traveling, going to the movies with family and friends, listening to her family sing, and spending precious time with those she loved most. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shaw is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Charles Shaw; siblings: Sammy Milligan, Larry Miligan, and Diane Milligan; and nephew, Joey Viegas.

Mrs. Shaw is survived by her children, Russ Shaw and his wife Nikki, Ricky Shaw and his wife Mary, and Pam Dozier and her husband Lamar; grandchildren: Heather Yarborough, Tyler Shaw, Jacob Shaw, Eli Shaw, Isaac Shaw, Corey Shaw, Dusca Tucker, Jessica Shaw, Ashley Guthrie, and Lindsey Gaylor; a number of great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services to honor her life will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Mr. Russ Shaw and Reverend Billy Chambers officiating.

Mrs. Shaw’s family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the service hour.

Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jacob Barker, Isaac Shaw, Corey Shaw, Bruce Guthrie, Tyler Shaw, and Dustin Yarborough.
