Mr. Richard “Ricky” Youngblood, age 53, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Ricky was born November 27, 1972, in Rome, Georgia, son of the late John Wilburn Youngblood, Sr. and Mary Lou Hudgins Youngblood.

Ricky was a gifted handyman, affectionately known as "Mr. Fix It." He not only had a talent for repairing just about anything but also found great joy in teaching others those same skills. An avid outdoorsman, he loved spending time fishing and tending to his garden. Above all, Ricky was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared a special bond with his granddaughters and treasured every moment spent with them. His love for his family was evident in all he did, and his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Ricky is preceded in death by a sister, Lila “Louise” Carter, and brother, John Wilburn Youngblood, Jr.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Dawn Allen Youngblood; children: Rachel Booker, Charla Hawkins (Tommy Hawkins, Jr.), TJ Weeks, and Amanda Weeks; grandchildren: Harper Grace Hawkins, and Avaree Gibson; siblings: Frances “Annette” Youngblood, and Christina “Tina” Youngblood; niece, Tiffany Youngblood; special aunt and uncle, George and Sharon Maddox; and special friend, David Wilson.

A gathering of friends will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smith & Miller Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.

The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Richard “Ricky” Youngblood.
