Shirley Clinton Mallory, age 84, passed away Saturday. June 27, 2026. He was born on June 18, 1942, in Mud Suck, West Virgina just outside of Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late Everett Clinton Mallory and Janet Maxine Newcomer Mallory of Spring Hill, West Virginia.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years before retiring. Following his military career, Shirley continued serving his community through the State of Georgia Education system. He and Anita also opened their hearts and home as foster parents, caring for and impacting the lives of 63 children over the years. Shirley further dedicated himself to helping others through Georgia Disaster Relief and faithfully served as a deacon at Worldview Baptist Church. In his spare time, he could be found either on the golf course or fishing. Above all else, Shirley will be remembered as a faithful servant of God.
In addition to his parents, Shirley was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Mari Miller; his brother, Charles Mallory and sister-in-law, Betty Mallory; and son-in-law, Jeff Curtis
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anita Agnes Ford Mallory; his children: David Clinton Mallory; Angela Anita Curtis, of Toney, Alabama; Sondra Renee Huether of Cedartown, Georgia; and Shari Lynn Rogers and her husband, Todd, of Cedartown, Georgia; grandchildren: Allen Miller, Marla Broadie, Mallory Miller, Tyler Huether, Jeffrey Curtis, Brandon Rogers, Brock Huether, and Ethan Rogers. He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Tyrone Mallory and wife, Shirley Ann, of Valdosta, Georgia. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Servies to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Worldview Baptist Church with Pastor Doyle Kelley and Mr. Wes Aronald sharing memories.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM at Worldview Baptist Church.
A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery in Canto, Georgia.
