Velma Marie Beck

Ms. Velma Marie Beck, age 65,  passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Ms. Beck was born October 6, 1958, daughter of the late Bobby Gene Blankenship, Sr. and Donis Bedford Blankenship. 

Ms. Beck was known for her sweet spirit and disposition. She was of the Christian faith and was a friend to everyone. Ms. Beck was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton. She was very talented and loved to draw. Ms. Beck was a cat lover and had a quirky sense of humor. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

In addition to her parents, Ms. Beck was preceded in death by a son, William Shane Beck; brother, Bobby Gene Blankenship, Jr.; and sister, Kathy Blankenship Zhou.

She is survived by her daughter, Jaime Beck Brady; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Kyle Blankenship; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Services to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 3:00 PM, in the Chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Revered Jerome Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. 

Her family will receive friends also on Sunday, from 2:00 PM until the service hour, at the funeral home.
