Verlon E. Coleman, Jr.

Verlon E. Coleman, Jr., age 94, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Wellstar Community Hospice Tranquility At Cobb.

He was born on April 1, 1932, in Hiawasee Georgia, a son of the late Mr. Verlon Coleman and the late Mrs. Ruby Garrett Coleman. 

Mr. Coleman retired at the age of 78, from Hiram Barber Shop. He had previously worked at J & J Barber Shop in Carrollton, Georgia. Mr. Coleman loved to garden and was an avid reader. He was a member of Christian Center in Cedartown.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Coleman is preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Jean Anthony; and all of his brothers and sisters. 

He is survived by his wife Charlotte Coleman of Cedartown; two sons and daughters-in-law: Dean and Maryanne Coleman of Acworth, and Tim and Jeanine Coleman of Temple; two daughters: Janice Coleman of Alabama and Wanda Coleman of Atlanta; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Robin and Mark Baldwin, stepson and daughter-in-law: Robert and Kelly Hodnett; as well as a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services to honor his life will be held Sunday, July 12, 2026, in Polk Memory Gardens, with Pastor Demetrius Crespo officiating. 

Mr. Coleman's family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
